Simple, Natural looking settings!

One great tip for setting up Christmas card photos is to keep things simple. Pick a main subject for your background such as the Christmas tree or other decoration. Then be sure that the rest of your background is simple. For example - a solid color curtain or wall without any distracting objects. This will make the focus of your image your family. Also important is to have good lighting for the room and little to no back lighting, other than say Christmas tree lights. Placing one lamp on low directly behind the Christmas tree may also help to accentuate the tree.
