Autumn Sunset Moon

Permissions

I took the photo myself and as there are no people pictured, I do indeed hold the copyright.

What I wanted the shot to look like.

I'd been hoping to get a good, dramatic moon photo, but I only have a point-and-shoot Canon, and I don't know many tricks for using it to make a shot look better. The mountains are blurrier than I'd like, and while I like the warm light from the sunset, it's kind of overpowering altogether and overwhelms the foliage color on the mountains. It looks a bit more "red" than it did in life, and the sky isn't as blue - it has more of a grayish tinge.

What I'd Do Differently

  • I'd like to have zoomed in more closely but was already at the max for my camera. I honestly don't have a clue how to make this type of photo work out better, but I'm hoping you can help!
