Reader Submissions: Save My Shot

From , former About.com Guide

While there are some truly botched photos out there, I believe that somewhere in nearly every snapshot is a photograph screaming to be seen. The "Save My Shot" series takes submitted photos that didn't quite go as planned and shows you how to make them great. I will edit the selected images and tell you what steps were taken with the edits. Then I'll tell you what could have been done at the time of capture to have made the shot great without editing. "Save My Shot" is a great opportunity for you to get feedback from a professional photographer and to learn how to make your photos fabulous with real-world examples.

I wanted the colored leaves to be the focus, with the rest of the scene establishing a context of serenity. The color of the leaves came across pretty well but the sky washed out and there's that odd…More
