Photo Description & Shutter Speed

I wanted to get my cat Torty while she was doing her normal activities of playing. She changes directions a lot and makes a lot of different moves. My goal was to get part of the entire composition in focus while showing mainly the head part of the cat out of Focus. I also wanted a good blend of colors. I used my Nikon D80 and 18-70

3.5-4-5 wide angle to get the shot. I cropped the picture to try to Blend the colors that would make the best composition. I use a shutter sped of 1/15th of a second on ISO 400.

Advice

  • Make sure you've planned the picture you want in advance. Take many pictures until you're satisfied with what you have. Try to set up in a certain place and watch the activity of the animal(in this case my cat) rather than moving all over the house.
