Photo Description
This was taken at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, the second oldest cemetery in the city. I think there are many photo opportunities in a cemetery and they are not crowded with people to get in the way of my shots. The monuments, headstones and mausoleums are each unique and full of stories to tell. This particular statute caught my eye because of the book in its hand. I had fun shooting different perspectives of this statute. This one is my favorite because it makes me feel as if I am trying to read the book over its shoulder to see what was so interesting about it.
Tips and Tricks
- I love to look beyond the obvious and find something unique in the things around me. Trips to exotic beaches, rural areas and beautiful gardens are limited so I make the best of the things I see on a regular basis.
