Photo Description
This is the Russ House. It was built in 1892-1895 by Joseph W. Russ, Jr. and is now houses the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. This beautiful house was the home of five generations of Joseph Russ' family before it was deeded to the Chamber. It was only deeded to them on the condition that they restore the home. Russ House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The home was occupied by the family until 1995 and in 1996 it was deeded the Chamber of Commerce.
Lessons Learned
- Light is very important when shooting in black and white. The picture can be to bright or to dark and it ruins the photo.
- Contrast is important when shooting in black and white too. The Russ House was perfect because the white house contrasted nicely with the darker greenery surrounding it.
