Photo Description
Photo was taken at Safari West in Santa Rosa CA. Safari West is a zoo on steroids where there are walking areas in addition to the guided tour in a open vehicle where every seat is a prime seat for photography. Camera equipment is my Nikon D200 with 70-200 f2.8 VR lens, hand held. Photo is as is with absolutely no editing. This bird was one of about 6 perched on a tree at the entrance.
Tips and Tricks
- I took about 40 shots to get this very clean, clear shot of the bird with the orange in his mouth. The hardest thing was capturing it at the precise moment it was somewhat still.
