Photo Description
First snowfall of the year taken with a telephoto lens about 10 feet away using a tripod. Shadows in the background were cast by a wooden picket fence. Fresh snow clinging to milkweed pods in the midmorning sun. I was trying out our new Christmas present. A fuji SLR like camera. I love this picture because I think its such an ordinary object with such natural beauty.
Advice
- I used a 300mm telephoto lens at a distance of about 10 feet and a tripod to get great detail of the milkweed without using a macro lens. The trick seemed to be to find the right distance from subject in order to get the clarity I wanted.
