Photo Description

Lake Irene, Rocky Mountain National Park. There is a path that goes around the lake, and usually is quite boggy, sometimes almost impossible to go fully around. Because it's been dry, we were able to go completely around. As we finished, I glanced back over my shoulder and just sort of saw the frames of the trees and the lines leading to the lake.

Advice

  • Turn around and look over your shoulder. Sometimes you see something you missed when you were facing it. That's how I saw this shot.

Liz Masoner, Photography Guide, says:

Requested Critique: This image is a nice photo but again, it doesn't really fit natural framing. There is good framing on the right and left. The top of the scene is completely open however. Were there a branch or other foliage at the top of the frame the suggested frame at the bottom (the shadow) would have worked to complete the frame.
