Photo Description
I was walking by a tree when I saw a butterfly eating the sap at the base of the tree. I spotted this insect which was "bouncing" around and tried to take a picture of it but it was moving fast and was hard to see on the grass. I kept waiting until it started climbing the tree and kept watching it as it moved along. Finally, it came to rest on a limb of the tree and I was able to take a picture. I took several from both sides of the limb as I was not sure which was the front and/or back of this insect !
Advice
- I almost did not see this insect as it blended in with its surroundings so you have to be on the lookout for little creatures or you will miss them. Patience is required. It was hard to see this insect on the grass and the bare ground at the base of a tree. It moved quite fast and it took several minutes of following it around before it came to rest at a location that would allow for a clear shot.
