Is a model release on file for all recognizable people?

None needed.

When was the photo taken?

October 26th 2009. I came home from work and they were ready and waiting to play ball.

Photo Description

Entry #1-I had a hard time deciding between the two because I assumed portraits were centered when the subject was looking at the photographer, but I like the rule of thirds better. Having space on the right gives them somewhere to go and it just has more visual interest to me.

The centered image which I always thought most portraits should be, especially when the subject is looking at you, is kind of boring. There is room all around them, but lacks the visual interest. Although I think either one would work.

Tips and Tricks

  • *This assignment really made me look at the whole picture before clicking the button. I had a sense of right and wrong when I framed my shots. I thought I would like the centered version better until I saw both images, it was clear that all portrait type shots do not need to be centered when the subjects are looking at the photographer.
