Zoos Through The Eyes Of Photographers

The Cleveland Metropark Zoo in Cleveland, Ohio is a world class facility that has worked very hard to keep it's exhibits up to date. The zoo features a large variety of animals, reptiles, birds and fish. The zoo is divided into area's that group animals from the same part of the world together including an African Savannah area, Australian Outback, Northern Trek, and a Primate, Cat and Aquatic building. A new elephant exhibit will be opening in 2011. There is also a Rain Forest exhibit in a climate controlled building that features many animals from Rain Forest area's around the world.
The zoo is photographer friendly having eliminated bars and fences in most exhibits. Many locations are marked as being good locations for photographs. The zoo sponsors a photo contest each year. (One of my photo's took a first place in 2009 in the insect and flower category).
