Finalist Image by Stephanie Calhoun for Assignment 35 - Halloween

Although this image composition would not work well as a traditional portrait, because the subject is too far off the the left while looking left, it works very well for Halloween. The subject is still on a rule of third line, the slight out of focus of the face makes us strain for a better view, the lighting is from beneath, the background is blacked out but the greenery in the front of the creature gives the impression it is in the woods, and the creature is looking down which gives us more angles on the face. Overall it has the feeling of what it might look like if you stumbled upon the creature in the woods and it was illuminated only by flashlight.
