This image uses a strong rule of thirds composition by allowing the ground 1/3 of the image and the sky 2/3. The house is also near an intersection point of the rule of thirds interest lines. The lines in the harvested field create leading lines that lead into the image and further increase the visual interest. The dark sky helps to add to the feeling of the end of something, in this case fall being the end of the growing season.
