This image makes use of the subject to help emphasize the rule of thirds placement. The crossbar of the cross is a bit offset from the top horizontal crossline and that detracts a bit from the image but overall the image very nicely fits the rule of thirds. The image is divided into three zones, roughly along the crosslines. The grass/rocks, sea, and sky create visual cues to further segment the image within the rule of thirds.
