This image uses a green fruit to repeat the growth/life idea of green. Slicing the fruit adds visual interest to the image. Also, this is a situation where overexposing the white background helps to prevent surface textures from distracting from the lime (except for a tiny bit of the cutting board between the two slices that was shaded enough for the texture to be seen). However, the shadow helps the image as it defines the base of the stark white field.
