Depth of field control and nice side lighting add interest to this image. Also, the fact that it is a behavior shot instead of a standard pose, adds a lot of interest. Kittens, like babies of most species, sleep very sound when they wear themselves out so this image speaks not only of a sleeping kitten - but a day full of play just before this photo was taken.
