This image can work equally well as horizontal or vertical. However, the photograph changes dramatically with each choice. The vertical image is a nice portrait of a goose. The horizontal image adds the two geese coming over the hill in the background. That and the lead goose's forward foot suggest the animals are coming towards the viewer and lead you to wonder just how many more geese will soon be headed your way. In short, the vertical is a static portrait while the horizontal is a story in motion.
