Guide Review - BorrowLenses.com

To test out the BorrowLenses.com service, we requested a Nikon D90, a Nikkor 10.5mm f2.8 Fisheye lens, and a LowePro Flipside 200 camera bag be shipped to us (follow the links for reviews of those products). The equipment was shipped out that afternoon via FedEx 2nd day air and arrived very well packed in manner than can easily be used for the return shipment to BorrowLenses.com with the prepaid return label. All BorrowLenses.com rentals are shipped via FedEx and shipping costs for both directions are calculated at checkout. Rental time does not start until FedEx first attempts delivery and ends when FedEx accepts the return package from you so you are not charged for transit time. The equipment received was in excellent condition and worked properly.

Rental prices for BorrowLenses.com are very reasonable and the selection is very good. Insurance is available to lessen cost of any damage done to the equipment while it is in your possession. The website is very informative and customers are not left confused about terms or conditions. Emails are answered promptly and in a friendly manner.

Ordered a lens on Friday for a Saturday night project. I called before placing the online order to confirm stock and delivery. I spent half a day researching the lens, where I was going to shoot, etc. Paid for delivery to their drop off spot in San Francisco. Drove from the Eastbay to pick up the lens and it was not at the pickup point. It was too late to call Borrowlenses as they were closed. So, my whole Saturday-Sunday project thrown out the window. It was like having the wind pushed out of you. I emailed them and never received a response back so called. I got same brain dead guy who put me on hold for 15 minutes and then the phone just hung up. I called back an hour later and got someone else who said they did not know what happed to the lens and said, Sorry. In my book Sorry does not cut it as this was a huge disappointment. I still have not received a credit memo from them on my CC card charges. Icing on the cake, I just received an email from them reminding me the lens is due back tomorrow!!! Unreliable, poor customer service.
