The Bottom Line
The Canon Extender EF 2x II (Teleconverter) is a very sturdy and reliable piece of equipment. For around $300, the reach of a lens is effectively doubled (300mm becomes 600mm). While no teleconverter will improve image quality, this one does not degrade image quality and that is a rarity in teleconverters.
Pros
- Little to no loss of image quality
- Autofocus works with lenses of f2.8 capability
- Image stabilization lenses retain their function
Cons
- 2 stop aperture reduction (normal for teleconverters)
Description
- Seven element design
- Weather resistant
- Internal anti-glare coating
