The Bottom Line
HP SimpleSave Photo is a great product for casual photographers and new to digital photographers. If you are uncomfortable computers and only tolerate them to access your digital photos, then HP SimpleSave Photo is the product you have been waiting for. If you are a photographer with lots of large file size images, HP SimpleSave Photo is probably going to be cost-prohibitive for you. This backup system is also great for family members you send photos to but they can never find them again later. For those family members this is something you'll want to send them on the next gift-giving occasion...or sooner.

Guide Review - Review of HP SimpleSave Photo
Very rarely do I come across a piece of software or photography gadget that is really as simple as it claims. HP SimpleSave Photo actually is as easy as it claims to be.
Simply place the SimpleSave DVD in your DVD burner drive and wait. The program opens itself and guides you through the process in very easy to understand terms. If you allow SimpleSave to automatically run without changing any options, the program will even grab and save images embedded in your emails. Again, this is something you will most likely want to give your great-aunt or other computer-illiterate relative to whom you email images over and over again because they can't find the first 12 emails.
For those who don't want email embedded images or use external hard drives, there is an options setting that easily lets you choose the file extensions and locations to backup.
Each SimpleSave Photo DVD holds around 2,000 images at an average file size of 2MB each. They are available individually and in 5 packs, which come with a nice hard case.
