Creepy Halloween Photography Angles

Most of the time, we look at the world at eye level. At Halloween, everything is supposed to be creepy and slightly off-center of normal. Playing with your photography angles can make your images very memorable.

Try shooting images from extreme angles. Shoot from above or below but be sure the angle is obvious. Try standing on a ladder to look down at your subject, or even holding the camera at a diagonal slant to achieve a new point of view. Combine the angles with spooky lighting for a really great Halloween image.

Note about Halloween costumes
Halloween costumes are a favorite subject in photography. Be sure to pay extra attention to your angles when photographing a costumed subject. While it is generally a bad idea to cut off a subject's feet in an image, Halloween costumes often do not include shoes. In those cases it is better to not photograph the feet than to photograph "Cleopatra" wearing red hightop sneakers.
