Guide Review - Review of Tripod Adapter for iPhone from Gary Fong
The iPhone tripod adapter from Gary Fong certainly won't win any beauty contests but it is an example of simplicity of design. A simple elongated "C" shape with a hole for a tripod head is the entirety of the iPhone tripod adapter. The iPhone is meant to simply slide into the holder, which holds the iPhone horizontally on top of a traditional tripod or any other stand using a standard tripod screw mount.
The iPhone tripod adapter comes in two styles, one for the iPhone 3GS and one for the iPhone 4. The version I tried for the iPhone 3GS was nearly impossible to fit the iPhone into and remove the iPhone. I believe this is due to the curved design of the edge of the iPhone. The adapter for the iPhone 4 fits much better but must be slid onto the phone from the side without buttons.
Combined with the Flip Cage tabletop tripod that Gary Fong developed or with any other tabletop tripod, this little adapter is sure to make iPhone photography much less blurry from shake.
