Changing the angle of a flash to bounce it off of ceilings or walls has long been a standard procedure with add on flashes but the Lightscoop brings this ability to pop-up flashes.

The Lightscoop is a relatively small accessory that fits into the hot shoe mount on your camera. It bears noting that if your camera uses a spring system to recognize a flash some older versions of the Lightscoop may not work with your camera. The manufacturer assures us that Lightscoop will replace any older model that may still be on the shelves if customers have a problem with compatibility for this reason. The Lightscoop is not a "cure all" solution for all your pop-up flash woes but it does nicely soften the light of the flash so that nasty glare and harsh shadows are diminished. Because the Lightscoop works by bouncing the flash you will need to increase the flash output power through your camera's menu. Overall the Lightscoop is a nice piece of equipment to have in your camera bag when you don't have the luxury of an add on flash.
