Guide Review - Review of MemoryEscape.com's Photo Books

MemoryEscape.com's photobook creation process is handled in your Internet browser. While this means you don't have to worry about finding the right software for your computing platform it does mean a lot of time waiting on your photos to upload before you can even begin the book creation process. Once you have uploaded your photos you will be able to begin the process. Like most photobook providers, MemoryEscape offers a nice variety of templates for your books with some customization option. However, working with a custom book is very tricky in the software and takes a lot of time if you have more than a few edits. Currently the theme templates (scrapbook, beach, etc) cannot be edited at all with regards to image ratio or placement.

MemoryEscape.com is owned by the same folks who run Overnightprints.com so I have to admit my expectations for printing quality were very high from MemoryEscape.com. While the paper is of good quality and the binding seems fairly well done the print quality leaves a lot to be desired. At first glace the images appear clear and sharp although noticeably darker than expected. A closer look at the photos however, shows distinct printing bands in lighter areas and almost all skintones, much like a basic color laser printer.

Overall, MemoryEscape's photobooks are a good option for basic small books at a reasonable price but probably not the best option for more complex or larger books.
