The Bottom Line
The Cagic 8 digital photo frame is best described as a luxury car in a field full of sub-compacts. Its not perfect by any means, but it is a world ahead of the competition. Relatively easy to understand controls, software designed for Cagic, and a willingness to listen to users means that Cagic will only get better. Cagic could very well be the yardstick by which the digital frame industry is measured in the future.

Guide Review - Review of Cagic Digital Photo Frame
One of the Cagic 8 digital photo frame's best innovations is the ability to turn the frame vertically or horizontally and the images will rotate to match. Unlike frames stuck forever in horizontal, the Cagic frame can be placed horizontally or vertically. Internal sensors read the orientation and change the images to match. This alone would make the Cagic worthy of praise but they didn't stop there. Beautiful natural wood styling is available in birch, mahogany, and black to match with any decor or image.
The brushed aluminum matting on the frame makes touch-interface possible without smudging the photo screen itself. Although fingerprints do show up rather easily on the aluminum matting this is much easier to clean safely than a photo screen. The touch-interface was the most frustrating feature of this frame for me as it often took several attempts to convince the frame to accept my commands. In fairness, I will say that dry hands and low humidity can easily affect the effectiveness of this type of touch-interface and the frame worked perfectly for my husband.
The 8.4" display is large enough to make images visible from a reasonable distance and the quality of the display is fabulous. Cagic then went a step further and designed the frame so that the user can adjust brightness and contrast to fit their specific lighting situation.
To make loading photos as easy as possible, the Cagic frame accepts CompactFlash, SD, MMC, xD, and MemoryStick (original, pro, and duo) media. The Cagic frame also includes a mini USB connection port for quick connect directly to cameras or computers. For those using thumb drives the Cagic comes with a mini-USB to USB adapter. The frame's internal memory is actually a 1GB SD card stored in a second slot so that internal memory can be upgraded as needed.
