Winner and Finalists of Zoo Photography Assignment - #64

The repeated patterns in this image help to suggest a much larger flock than what is actually captured within the borders of the photo itself. The single raised head set on a rule of thirds vertical line helps to add a visual point of interest to keep the eye from being lost within the patterns. By using a relatively low angle but still shooting slightly downward the possibly distracting background of a fence is eliminated which enhances the feel of this being a small slice of a much larger scene.
