This image is interesting because of several factors. The shape of the corn as it slopes is a nice change from flat horizons. Also, the sun is so overexposed that it glows. This is a great example of how if you are going to break a "rule" you should break it in a big way. Slight overexposure of the clouds near the sun would have detracted a bit from the image but there is so much overexposure it makes the sun feel more powerful in the image. Also, the size of the sun makes us feel much closer to the sun than in more traditional sunset images. All of this combined makes for a very interesting and effective image.
