Photography Assignment 56 - Centering vs. Rule of Thirds

By , About.com Guide

Our learning assignment for October is centering vs. the Rule of Thirds. We've studied the rule of thirds and centering methods of composition. This assignment will hopefully reinforce these methods of composition by comparing and contrasting them. Each entry for this assignment will include two photos. For this assignment you will take two photographs of the same subject. One photo will be using the centering composition method and the other will use the rule of thirds method. Then you will decide which of the photos is the strongest of the two compositions.

Please review the lessons on Rule of Thirds and Centering before beginning this assignment.
