The iris is one of my favorite flowers and this photo highlights all the reasons why. The lovely colors, the frilly edges and the shape are all highlighted.

This reminds me that we had these same iris flowers when I was a kid. I always loved them because they smelled to me like grape koolaid.

How about a vertical composition of the same flower? It might just a tad better balanced. Otherwise, Very nice.

The reason I say this is it is a STRONG vertical with the stem and upright petals. It would be balanced by the tendancy of the leaves to lean, and by the horizontal petals as well. Try it – who knows? I could very well be wrong.
