What Brand do You Shoot?
Thursday May 21, 2009
Photographers love their cameras. Many of us are also very loyal to one brand of camera. While almost all cameras currently on the market from reputable manufacturers are capable of capturing high quality images, almost everyone prefers a particular brand. Personally, I shoot Pentax. I love the control set up, the durability, the lens quality, and the unpretentious nature of the brand. Every brand has its own identity and owners of those cameras may or may not fit the "brand profile".
What brand camera do you shoot with and why? Are you a Pentaxian? A Nikonian? Do you prefer Canon? Perhaps a different brand has stolen your heart.

I have a Leica film camera that was handed down to me from my father, an Olympus P&S that I purchased because of its gorgeous F1.8 lens, and a Canon 1D MkII for my primary body due to the fact I could use the Leica lenses on it as well as Canon glass.
I’m not committed to any brand, I’m just committed to image quality and using whatever works to give me that final print.
I’d use a wheaties box with a toy periscope if it meant that I could get the shot I wanted.
Nikon. like NASA’s space shuttle. but its not the camera. it’s the person pressing the shutter release.
I have Canon; however, I am seriously looking at Pentax.
I shoot Pentax ME Super, Pentax MG, Pentax MZ-M film cameras.
I shoot Pentax K200D with lenses FA 50mm f1.4, Tamron 70-30, & Sigma 28-70mm f2.8.
I have no passion for camera bodies as they are disposable. The glass however is the determining factor of my loyalty. I have invested heavily in Canon glass and until anyone has a full set of pro glass that can compete, I am locked in to those bodies.
