May is National Photography Month

Here in the United States, May is National Photography Month. Of course, those of you outside the United States are certainly invited to celebrate a whole month of photography with us. In honor of National Photography Month, May on About Photography will have some special events. Our first special event will run the entire month of May and will take the place of our two assignments for May only. During May there will be a continual "Photo of the Day" Competition.

Any photo posted to the About Photography Forums during May will be eligible for judging and possible selection as a photo of the day (provided they do not violate the user agreement). To maintain a great forum experience for all of our readers (including those on dial-up), please keep your images to no larger than 640px by 480px. Photos do not have to be taken during May (but it would be great if they were) for this event. This is a great time to show us your best shot!

Images selected as photos of the day will be posted on the main website and also placed in an image gallery containing all the photo of the day winners. Remember that images with people in them must have model releases if the person can be recognized from the photograph.
