Photography Assignment #24 - Flowers

If the sudden color change of our vehicles to yellow is any indication, flowers are blooming everywhere. The pollen is thick and the flowers are flaunting bright colors as they compete with each other for bees. Assignment 24 will be flowers. Wildflowers, purchased flowers, or even artificial flowers are all acceptable. Just remember that the flower(s) should be the main focus of the image.

When working with flower images it is a good idea to review depth of field, how to prevent blurry images, and color temperature. Remember that your camera/lens has a minimum focusing distance. If you are 1 inch from a flower but the lens cannot focus closer than 6 inches, the image will be blurry.

The forum has recently underwent an update an now has a great new look. As part of the update the column widths changed a little. While images are still allowed to be up to 640 x 480 pixels, most computer monitors will only show 400 pixels wide without scrolling. This is a personal preference but something to keep in mind if you don't want your images to need scrolling.

The deadline for this contest will be at 10PM Eastern time on April 15th.
Images MUST be taken during the contest period (April 1 - April 15).
Assignment winners will be announced April 18th.
In addition to the winner and up to 8 finalists posted in the winner's gallery, I will also be selecting several images each contest for additional critiques to be posted in the entry thread.
