Color in Photography
Monday March 31, 2008
While black and white is still a popular photography choice, today's film and digital photography is primarily in color. This more accurately reflects the world around us but also presents its own unique challenges. When we take a photograph we are capturing light to create an image, just like a painter uses paint to capture a vision. In photography, that means that we do not always have control over the color palette in front of us. Think how the Mona Lisa would have looked if she had been wearing a purple-polka dot shirt. In real life, color affects how we perceive the world around us. This translates to our photography as well. We began exploring the world of color with our Green Assignment, #22. Now we will take the exploration of color a bit farther by working with:The Color Wheel
