Photography Opportunity - Lunar Eclipse
Wednesday February 20, 2008
Weather permitting, tonight (February 20th) is a great night for photographers in North and South America to practice their moon photography. Photographers in South America and Central/Eastern North America should get an excellent view of a deep red moon at total eclipse. Photographers in Western Europe will get a chance in the early morning hours of February 21st. Photographers outside of the totality zone should still be able to see some of the partial eclipse. Australia and most of China are outside the visibility zone for this eclipse. To check visibility and time in your area, visit NASA's eclipse page. The next lunar eclipse is predicted in 2010.

I live in San Jose, CA and while the lunar eclipse was intercepted by clouds and rain, luckily I’d shot my first lunar eclipse previously in August. The images were shot with my Canon 10D at 300mm, various exposure times… i was up all night! 6 hours and about 1000 photos. I’ve posted some of the best via the link.
